The Establishment of October 30 as ‘Muslim-American Leadership Day’

Muslim-American Leader answers Question on Celebrating the Birthday of Imam W. Deen Mohammed

QUESTION: Brother Imam Earl Abdulmalik Mohammed, should we be celebrating the birthday of the Prophet? And in that sense should we be celebrating Imam W. Deen Mohammed’s birthday?

ANSWER: Praise be to Allah. We turn to Him for assistance in all matters. We ask Him for forgiveness of our shortcomings, and our sinful actions, and our conscious and unconscious wrongs and disobedience to Him. We believe in Him, He that is Mighty in Mercy and Power, and Ever-Perfect - the Lord-Creator, Cherisher and Sustainer of all the Systems of Knowledge. He Guides those He loves, and He permits those to stray who reject Mercy, Guidance, and Faith. We witness that nothing is to be worshipped except Him with no partners sharing in His Authority or Command. And we witness that Muhammed -the human being to whom He revealed the Qur’an, is His Messenger and Servant. For Allah is all Power and Strength. For Him is the Praise. For Him is Absolute Authority and Power over everything created. For Him is the Determination of all affairs. For Him is the Defining of Human Purpose. For Him is the Fulfillment And Success, and for His Pleasure are all our human effort towards a completed excellence.

I do not speak these words in ignorance. They are not the words of blind or unconscious habit. They are words taught to me and learned by me. These words are logic taught to a whole people. These words have made and formed a whole people. These words created a new human mind for and among those targeted to be separated from their human life. These words are responsible for the forward determination of that people, vanquishing and excising the haunting of their souls by American plantation ghosts, creating for them a new identity that solves that American psyche-dilemma, and firmly establishing them in a universe-soul (universal) community reality in this world and in these United States of America.

These words do not lead and would not lead a sincere soul to any insane extremism. On the contrary, these words lead to a perfect sense of human moral form and a just human ambition. These words demand human self and mutual respect. They are the words of liberation from all oppressive forces and schemes, and they are simultaneously the words of cooperation and peace. These words are Faith and Salvation, at the same time. This is the Old and New. The true Testament. The accurate Statement of Witness. They are to be lived by and celebrated in all times, under all circumstances, in all social and cultural spaces, in all political spaces, within every racial and ethnic reality, and economic and social station. This logic was born in our conscience by the legacy that Islam is Freedom, Justice, and Equality. Should we not celebrate this in our expression of Islamic identity?

In America these words and all of their implications were taught over 33 years, by one born in 1933, October 30. If you know something about the teaching of Muhammed the Prophet, the prayers and the peace be on him, then you would recognize the number 33 and its Islamic significance. According to the Prophet’s teaching every soul that has earned the Reward is granted that age as its perpetual existence. 33 is the number indicating a pleasing and rewarded life. As a matter of historical record, 1933 was a special year for the 20th century and influenced the direction of the 21st century international world. We do not have the time to discuss it all here and now, but if you and those reading this take the time to study as I have what happened in the world that year you may come to appreciate our situation and our Muslim people-identity in America on a different plane of context, and on a higher level of spiritual and social understanding.

These words of Faith and Knowledge, and their derived, composite language was taught by a very special soul. He was representing the universal and eternal soul when he spoke the words and communicated in the new language. For this reason alone, there is absolutely NO DOUBT, that Imam W. Deen Mohammed’s leadership should be celebrated as an integral part of the social structure and cultural tradition of Muslim-Americans on the day of his birth in 1933. The fact is that if in the year 2020, you are removing his name from your life and his influence from your Muslim-American institutions, then according to the Holy Qur’an, you are a deviant, a cursed body. No learned person under the discipline of Islamic faith and knowledge would oppose this statement.

We are not permitted to add or subtract anything to what our Prophet established as Islam and Islamic life. Whatever we establish as Muslims for our social and cultural existence must fit precisely within Muhammed’s teaching and demonstration. It cannot counter the Holy Qur’an teaching by language or spirit. It cannot deviate in any way from Prophet Muhammed’s example. The people of Guidance, True and Accurate Faith, would not ever desire or permit any deviation.

I hope you will be patient as I am answering your question.

Allah, the Most High, says in the Qur’an:

“Those who reject, and interfere with or obstruct people from the path of Allah, their actions will be cast astray by Allah. And those who have correct Faith, and their actions reflect that Faith, and believe in what was sent down to Muhammed -and it is Truth from their Lord, He will remove from them their conscious and unconscious wrongs, and rectify their condition.”

Again, our Prophet Muhammed said:

“Follow your leader, even as he is a raisin-headed African.”

There was not a rectification or direction for the African-American life toward its proper human identity and destiny until Islam was expressed as Freedom, Justice, and Equality into its ears. There was no reason for the African-American people to believe in a just G’d until Imam W. Deen Mohammed was born. It registers as Truth before all nations on Earth and in the High Assembly in Heaven. To this Truth, the angels bear witness, peace be on them, as do the righteous, may Allah be pleased with them and grant them Mercy, from the beginning of time until this moment.

In the spirit and truth of our Islamic life in America, built upon the foundation of Faith in its correct picture, expression and understanding, and reconciled precisely to Muhammed the Prophet’s methods, example, and leadership, and the Guidance received and demonstrated by him, I ask that our people who have the experiences of the African-American spiritual and social plane of Muslim life influence, celebrate October 30 from now and forward as our Muslim-American Leadership Day.

I do intend as leader in this Tradition to promote Muslim-American Leadership Day in the same spirit that all civilized, conscious communities of Muslims everywhere on this earth commemorate and honor the leadership, social, and cultural traditions that distinguish their identity, achievement, and peoplehood within their unique and respected membership in the following of Islam and Muhammed the Prophet.

If you are not respecting your natural mind you will not appreciate this answer, and as Allah is Witness, you can count yourself astray from His purpose in your Muslim-American life and your Islamic commitments.
