I am commenting on this in lead up to our December 20 public address.
Our Islamic life, if we are seeing it and understanding it correctly, wants that we respect the form in which Allah has created us. Within and upon the form itself is direction and purpose. In the form itself is a correction pointing at human purpose, and ultimately reconciling a fallen humanity to its original created human purpose—if and when the human mind or heart gets off track.
This form I am speaking of is not only referring to human physical form, or the physiology of human beings—although that is very important because it is also His Creation and one of His Mighty Signs. I am not referring to that in these comments, however. I am referring to the construction of the human life itself which is understood in the designation of man’s original purpose and how man’s conscience aligns with that purpose, then fulfills that purpose.
Man’s conscious mind must align with that Purpose. To come into that form that G’d wants for man, man must select that Purpose designated for him. That saves him. That redeems him. Within his very creation he becomes his own destiny. His destiny becomes aligned with his original purpose, and he is saved as a creation. He is redeemed as a creation upon the components of what was always present in his creation. This is one of several examples of the Mercy in two Merciful expressions that exist in the outer universe as a Sign and simultaneously in the soul of man.
Allah says in the Qur’an:
سَنُرِيهِمْ آيَاتِنَا فِي الْآفَاقِ وَفِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ يَتَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ ۗ أَوَلَمْ يَكْفِ بِرَبِّكَ أَنَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ
“Soon We will show them Our Signs in the farthest regions and in their own souls, until it becomes clear and established that this is the Truth. Is it not sufficient that your Lord witnesses all things?”
So we have this alignment of two heavenly bodies, Jupiter and Saturn occurring soon, on the longest night of the year. Mankind will be able to witness it everywhere on this Earth. Science says that it happens every 20 years or so, but it has not been seen clearly or this closely for all to see for 800 years. This is what the scientists are saying—that group who search for verifiable facts, not guess work. They are aiming for Truth. Even their guessing is educated and informed, not empty pretense. They base their guesses on verifiable truth. This is the scientific method. I would not want to get caught up on explaining these numbers at this particular time. This is not the point of these comments. But, the numbers are very significant. 20 upon 20, 400 upon 400. 2 upon 2 and 4 upon 4 - very significant.
Again, Allah says in the Qur’an:
وَقَدَّرَ فِيهَا أَقْوَاتَهَا فِي أَرْبَعَةِ أَيَّامٍ سَوَاءً لِلسَّائِلِينَ
“And He determined (in it) their necessary provisions in 4 time periods, in accordance with their conscious aims and concerns.”
400 years ago we could not see anything clearly about our human purpose. We, as a people, cut off from our natural human supports could not see the value placed in our human form. We had no reference to rectify that. We had no societal supports to rectify that. The world that had put us in that condition was actually debating our humanity—wanting to convince itself that it’s treatment of us was justified because we were not actually or fully human.
So the alignment of human origin with true human purpose was cloudy on the earth. That is the whole earth, not just America. America had not yet formed as a nation and that which was enabling its formation was fueled and supported by political, cultural, and industrial networks that benefitted from an argument that reduced our ancestors to a sub-human status.
We were subject to the ‘local’ oppression of the American hypocrisy to its universal idea. The 4 is universal, but American behavior in that moment clouded the issue. The clouding of the issue of the universal truth of man’s purpose as brought to our human reality by Muhammed with the revelation of the Holy Qur’an, brings about the necessity for a proper vision to be imposed upon the corrupted vision. And even that was clouded up until the beginning of our history in America and its completion with Imam W. Deen Mohammed. So another 400 has come upon that previous 400 hundred. And in the latter 400 we have had an awakening. So now comes the alignment in the heavens and simultaneously in our souls. Now in the time of the Day of Religion comes the alignment.
There are many important references here. There is the clear reference to Adam. Adam is our first father. He is a huge figure. Islamic teachings show him as a man of giant proportions. That is because all of humanity comes from him. He is a singular and a plural. We are not to see him as only a single flesh body. He is the original human personality (النفس واحدة), and at the same time he is a reference point for the origin all of mankind in human community—the origin, the fall, and the redemption.
So what is the ‘Great Conjunction?’ What is this alignment in the heavens of the two great heavenly bodies of the farthest regions? Christ is established in the Bible as the “second Adam.” He is also established as a ‘configuration of light.’ The Bible also says that “an image fell down from Jupiter.” Jupiter being the largest of the bodies and the celebration of the re-birth is in Saturn. So Adam is re-born in the alignment of Jupiter and Saturn. After the long darkness -the winter solstice - the longest night of the year, comes the second Adam in a light configuration.
It is man’s original creation reconciled with his original, created purpose and the light of new consciousness as to his created destiny of community pride in excellence. It is man realizing the vision for his destiny as G’d created it for him in his original design. It is the Breath of Life into the original human creation. It comes now into the universal conscious life of the man created to grow into universal proportions upon the support of provisions that cannot be grown or appreciated in a local reality. No, it transcends the local. It is universal, belonging to the properties and disciplines of man’s obedience to the Lord of the Two Easts and Two Wests. It can no longer be contained. And after the long night of oppression, it shows itself again to all mankind.
